Two visits with a shared goal
GenTech’s current maintenance approach includes two visits per contract year: a primary full-maintenance visit and a later checkup with a stronger focus on cleaning, enclosure and perimeter care. Both consider the complete generator system. Neither is simply a promise that a fixed list of parts will be replaced regardless of condition or model.
Each visit has a different emphasis. Your written agreement identifies the included services, schedule and exclusions.
Primary maintenance visit
Mechanical maintenance, inspection and applicable operational checks receive the main emphasis. Oil, filters, plugs, coolant, belts or other items depend on the generator and service needs. Cleaning, enclosure care and surrounding-condition observations remain part of the complete-system conversation.
Checkup and enclosure-care visit
The second visit combines mechanical inspection, checks and top-off as applicable with more extensive cleaning, appropriate lubrication, enclosure attention and perimeter upkeep. Corrosion, hinges, locks, vegetation, airflow and drainage are considered according to the equipment and installation.
Confirm these details in your written agreement
- The covered generator, term, visit count and scheduling approach.
- Included labor, consumables and any exclusions or applicable limits.
- How additional diagnostics, parts and repair approvals are handled.
- Available service documentation and photographs.
- Any separate monitoring hardware/subscription and response arrangement.
- Current price, payment schedule, renewal and cancellation terms.
Maintenance agreement options
Choose a maintenance term for each generator. Annual rates per generator are:
| Term | Annual rate |
|---|---|
| 1 year | $445 |
| 2 years | $425 |
| 4 years | $405 |
| 6 years | $385 |
Monitoring is separate. Requesting a term does not renew an agreement, schedule a visit or authorize payment. GenTech will review the equipment and provide the agreement details for your review.
Questions homeowners ask
Does an agreement include every possible repair?
Do not assume it does. Ask which work and parts are included and how additional findings will be quoted or approved.
Can a maintenance visit replace a home-sale inspection?
A dedicated inspection uses a separate checklist and documentation purpose. Tell GenTech which outcome you need.
Is the schedule the same for every generator?
Equipment requirements, operating history and the agreement guide service. Discuss unusually heavy use or a new fault rather than waiting for a routine visit.
